Being pregnant is considered as one of the most beautiful experiences of a woman’s life. A pregnancy is considered full-term for as early as 37 weeks and as late as 40 weeks. But there are times when despite all the necessary precautions and extra care, infants are born preterm.
Premature birth refers to the birth of an infant before its organs mature enough to allow normal child growth and development. These infants are called preemies and are very small. Preemies, in the olden days were less likely to survive but with today’s modern know-how, preemies’ survival rate have greatly increased. Do not let such a beautiful event turn into a harrowing experience. Just because a mother has a preemie, it doesn’t mean it’s the worst of the worst. Take it into stride, pray for the best and go out for some preemie christening dresses or suits because a mother will be able to hold her preemie baby and welcome it to the Christian world.
